表示数量的代词(any,much,little,few,many)的用法

1．下面这些都是表示数量的代词，用法大体上可以归纳如下：

	很多，许多	没多少，很少（否定）	有一些，有几个（肯定）
用于可数名词	many	few	a few
用于不可数名词	much	little	a little

这些词作定语时较多(a)，有时也可作主语(b)或宾语(C)：
a．Many hands make light work.
人多好办事。(谚)
There isn’t much difference between them.
它们之间没多大差别。
Few words are best．
少说话最好。(谚)
Could I have a few words with you?
我能和你说几句话吗?
Just give me a little vinegar．
给我一点醋。
He gave us little help．
他给我们的帮助很少。

b．Many(of them)are adults.
(他们)许多人是成年人。
There is not much to do here．
这儿没多少事要做。
Few(of us)have ever been there．
(我们)很少人到过那里。
A few of them are from the south．
他们有几个人是南方人。
There is little left.
没剩多少了。
There is still a little．
还剩一点。

c． How many (much) do you want?——A dozen(catty)
你要多少?——一打(一斤)。
I know little(don’t know much)about it．
这事我不太了解。
I’11 get a few (bottles).
我去买几瓶。
I have got a little
我有一点。

用作表语：
How much is it?
多少钱?
Thanks，it’s too much for me.
谢谢，太多了。

2．any，much主要用于疑问句和否定句，肯定句中多用a lot of：
A lot of students want to take the course．
很多学生想修这门课。
We’ve got a lot(of things)to do today．
今天我们有很多事要做。

many常可在肯定句中作主语或修饰主语，也可修饰宾语：
Many play volleyball in our school．
我们学校很多人打排球。
Many men，many minds．
人多主意杂。(谚)
The hen laid many eggs.
母鸡下了好多蛋。
